2026 Additional Futures

Hi folks! We’ve got football this weekend which means I’ve got to get finished up with my preseason posting.

Outside of my win total series, I had 5 other futures that I personally placed this year that I wanted to share: 3 Heisman tickets and 2 national title picks. Check em out below!

Dante Moore – Heisman (+1100)

Dante Moore returns for his junior season to settle unfinished business after a brief flirt with the NFL. Fortunately, he again has the supporting cast to likely light it up this year with a bounty of electrifying playmakers like fully healthy Evan Stewart, Dakorien Moore, and tight end Jamari Johnson. With a navigable schedule that also features primetime matchups like Ohio State and USC, Moore should easily clear the 30 touchdown mark and may push for 40. He’s as sure of a bet as any to make it to New York.

Jeremiah Smith – Heisman (+1400)

I’m projecting Ohio State to have the most potent offense in college football this year. That means betting on Julian Sayin would probably be a safer thing here especially since he received the invite to New York last year, but I’m placing my money behind the best player in college football to finally have the season we’ve been waiting for. With Carnell Tate departing for the NFL and to a lesser extent Max Klare, the Buckeyes look to fill some open targets with a combination of freshman 5-star Chris Henry Jr., a larger role for Brandon Inniss and others. However, I think Ryan Day might just go ahead and “let the big dog eat” this year. I’m thinking the campaign kicks off with a monster 150 yard, 2 TD performance week 2 in Austin.

John Mateer – Heisman (+2800)

At 28:1, the 2025 midseason Heisman odds leader returns healthy and with hopefully no lingering issues from the thumb injury that ended his campaign. The Sooners return star receiver Isaiah Sategna who will be the #1 target and also bring Texas transfer Parker Livingstone and Virginia transfer Trell Harris into the arsenal of weapons for Mateer to distribute to. Oklahoma is hopeful that the O-line improves this year to lead to a more balanced attack which would open up things for Mateer, but if it does not he has the skill set to go “Superman” mode for this offense. The schedule features a bevy of tough defenses but that also means a lot of high profile matchups that could aid the campaign’s visibility.

Oregon – National Champion (+800)

Plain and simple, I think Oregon is the best team in the country this year. There are no holes I can see on the roster outside of the offensive line really playing at a high level against elite competition. The front 7 has the ability to entirely wreck games and completely shut down opposing offenses. At the most important position on the field, they project to have the deepest QB room in the country which includes what would’ve been a top 5 pick from this past year’s draft. As long as Dan Lanning can get his new coordinators up to speed this year, the expectation for the Ducks should be national championship. They are my pick to win it all this year.

Oklahoma – National Champion (+3000)

Brent Venables will try to parlay a 2025 CFP appearance into a deeper run in 2026, and I think he has the roster to do just that. I’m betting on a much improved offensive line behind the addition of Arkansas transfer E’Marion Harris which means a more balanced and tougher to defend attack for offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle. Plus a full healthy John “maybe too jacked” Mateer doesn’t hurt the offensive prospects. The defense loses a few key pieces from last year, but I implicitly trust Venables to produce another elite unit in Norman. With their schedule, they may not win enough in the regular season to get a bye, but once the playoff kicks off, I expect the complementary nature of this team combined with elite quarterback play to suffocate teams similar to how Curt Cignetti’s Hoosiers did last year.
