College Football Betting Guide Week 6: Standings Stay Pat As Dirty and McGee Search For Answers
Week 5 came with more of the same for the analysts in the CFB Blog Betting Guide. Outside from an outstanding week from the ascending Pookie Beadson, the table looks awfully similar to last week.

Through 5 weeks now, our team has posted a collective record of 127-108. While that is 19 units up, it’s unfortunately only 54%. I think a good team goal to strive for by the end of the season is to shoot up to 60% as a group. Seems achievable enough, no?
To incentivize our pickers, I’ve placed a bounty of a $100 Chili’s gift card to the overall champion and $50 to the lock champion at the end of the year. Hopefully that gives some of us extra motivation to dive deeper on some of our picks each week (I know it will for MPG).
We’ve got 3 consensus choices for you this week, all in the B1G. Check out those and all of our favorite picks in Week 6 below!
Runder Arrade
Wyoming @ San Jose State – Under 43.5
BYU -10.5
Texas A&M @ Missouri – Over 48.5
Minnesota -2.5
LOCK: Indiana -7.5
Ladies and gentlemen. We’ve come to the point in the college football season where the Nebraska hype has hit its apex yet again. Everyone is asking: is it different this time? Could they really be back? Maybe the 3rd year Matt Rhule bump was delayed a year! Fools! All of them, I tell you! Let’s just quickly harken back to October 2 years ago. A 6-0 undefeated Indiana team was favored by 6.5 points to the Huskers in Bloomington. The final score? A 56-7 shellacking. If you think things will be much different this Saturday in Lincoln, I’ve got a pristine Ford Pinto for sale with your name on it. If this number goes inside 7, we’ve for sure entered Game of the Year territory.
Ovaltine Jenkins
Iowa @ Washington – Under 41.5
UCLA +11.5
Missouri -3.5
Pittsburgh -3.5
LOCK: San Jose State -6
While the Cowboys lead the all-time series 8-7 and won the last matchup (35-28 last October) against the Spartans, I’m continuing to target them with my Lock of the Week. They’re a bad team on paper, even worse on TV, and I don’t think SJSU will have a problem in the 408.
Jerry Rosenblatt
Kansas State -2.5
Illinois -2.5
Texas -7.5
Georgia +1.5
LOCK: North Dakota State -3
First of all, I have to give a genuine apology to all those following my picks. A perfect record on locks ended up collapsing in a full scale meltdown on last week’s picks. I failed to consider that the Monstars had stolen Illinois’s talent and that the trains would ultimately beat them for their 1st conference win in what feels like a generation. That being said, I think Illinois does turn things around and beats a very struggling MSU. As much as I would love to tell you that I think Georgia should be the lock as they have been in weeks prior, I am slightly apprehensive about the trip to Tuscaloosa. Sue me, I am but a simple farmer. Therefore, I have elected to make this week’s lock the North Dakota State Bison. NDSU looks to continue on their war path to an eventual argument to make the CFP. And while a lot of things will have to go right outside of their control, smashing UNLV is certainly something that the Bison can do on their own. Give me NDSU by 30.
Mr. PG
Indiana -7.5
Texas vs Oklahoma – Over 39.5
Ole Miss -9.5
Georgia +1.5
LOCK: West Virginia +3
RICH ROD REVENGE GAME. This one goes out to Pat White. To Tavon Austin and his legendary highlight tape. I will never forget the 2007 CFB season with Chase Daniel’s Mizzou team, Aqib Talib’s Jayhawks, and the heartbreaking 100th Backyard Brawl. How does Arizona firing Rich Rod in 2017 relate to 2007? It doesn’t. But shoutout Rich Rod.
Pookie Beadson
Minnesota -2.5
USC +1.5
South Carolina @ Florida – Over 61.5
UCLA @ Oregon – Over 58.5
LOCK: Arizona @ WVU – Over 61.5
It’s that time of year! The weather is perfect, offenses have had a few weeks to find their rhythm, and Big 12 defenses continue to be traffic cones standing meekly in the way of opposing teams. Zona’s offense is rolling, and Mike Hawkins was born to run Rich Rod’s spread offense. Bettors, on your marks. Get set for a track meet in Morgantown. Bang!
Brick Cash III
Indiana -7.5
UCLA @ Oregon – Under 58.5
BYU -10.5
BC3’s Island Play: Hawai’i +20.5
LOCK: Iowa @ Washington – Over 41.5
We are out here boots on the ground in Seattle this week for work, and the energy here is electric. The Huskies are fresh off some whack USC gameplay. They’re hungry and eager to capture this W. Heck, I may even make the trek out to Husky Stadium to watch them lock this up and throw away the key.
Dirty Tomas
Vanderbilt +9.5
Ohio State -34.5
Minnesota -2.5
Boise State -6
LOCK: Illinois -2.5
Three things that suck: 1) Illinois, 2) Michigan State, and 3) my locks. So the question is what sucks the most? The answer, my friends, is your Michigan State Spartans. Sparty is in free-fall. They can’t score and their team has been trashed by injuries. Former Spartan QB Katin Houser is returning to East Lansing and will do significant damage to MSU with his arm and his legs. Look for the Fighting Illini to get back on track and not only cover but win big.
Adam McGee
Iowa +3.5
Maryland +34.5
Arizona -3
Kansas @ Utah – Over 51.5
LOCK: Indiana @ Nebraska – Over 50.5
Do my eyes deceive me? IU overs have gone 4-1 so far this year. My boy Cignetti has never heard of the mercy rule and certainly will make sure IU makes a statement this game. Nebraska’s offense has proven they can move the ball, and I expect a little back and forth. Go Hoosiers.
