Betting Guide – Week 3 2026

College Football Betting Guide Week 3: Chasm Opens Between Haves and Have Nots

Runder Arrade Avatar

Week 2 is officially in the books, and my fear of beginner’s luck was unfortunately realized. The panel collectively mailed in a sub .500 weekend with a 23-25 overall record. That’s simply not going to cut it, and we apologize. Fortunately we were, however, at least 5-3 on locks which is a small silver lining.

After 2 weeks, there is a distinct dividing line that has formed between the analysts performing well and those giving out subpar advice.

For those in the bottom half of the standings, there have been some themes that have formed that got them there, most notably a fascination and admiration for an 0-2 Rutgers team. Hopefully some of us can re-wire our brains as the season moves along and come to the realization that there is no hope for the Scarlet Knights in 2026.

We’re looking at a strong slate this weekend with a lot of fascinating SEC match-ups as many teams kick off conference play. Let us know your feedback on how the weekly betting guide is going in the comments below! Feel free to be as savage as you want.

Texas A&M -16.5

SMU @ Louisville – Over 59.5

Ole Miss +3

Tennessee -35.5

LOCK: Virginia -9.5

The Duke’s Mayo Classic will see historic rivals West Virginia and the University of Virginia clash on Saturday at Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium for the first time since the 2002 Continental Bowl – coincidentally, that game was played at the same stadium. The Mountaineers haven’t beaten the Cavaliers since 1981, and Beau Pribula & Co. will continue the streak as Virginia moves to 3-0 in convincing fashion. Go Hoos.

Arizona State Team Total – Over 27.5

Central Michigan ML

Toledo -5.5

BYU -16.5

LOCK: Arizona State -5.5

The Sun Devils leave College Station licking their wounds from a 4-touchdown drubbing. Kenny Dillingham’s men now look across the Atlantic to recover their lost pride against a Jayhawks squad that is also demoralized from their home defeat to archrival Missouri. While Cutter Boley and the offense committed 4 turnovers against Texas A&M, they also outgained the Aggies by over 100 yards. I think ASU cleans up the mistakes and puts up a huge number against a Kansas defense that couldn’t keep their head above water in a kiddie pool.

Iowa State -23.5

Alabama -19.5

BYU @ Colorado State – Over 52.5

Virginia -9.5

LOCK: Georgia -24.5

The Dawgs looks to keep on barking this week as they walk into a struggling Arkansas program. I think Georgia comes out hot and doesn’t take the foot off the gas as they begin conference play.

LSU -2.5

Mississippi St @ S. Carolina – Under 58.5

Murray State +56.5

Old Dominion -2.5

LOCK: North Texas +3

2-0 against the spread this year, the Mean Green travel 4 hours south to San Marcos for this in-state matchup. Leading the charge is former Indiana QB Tayven Jackson who has been slinging it around quite nicely. Take the 3 points and don’t be surprised as North Texas wins this makeshift home game outright. Don’t sleep on Scrappy!

Miami (FL) @ Wake Forest – Over 56.5

North Texas +3

Florida -2.5

Mississippi State +3.5

LOCK: Wyoming @ CMU – Under 39.5

This game looks to be your classic case of “stoppable force meets moveable object” – I’m betting at least one of these teams finishes with 10 points or less. Lock it in and tune in to this week’s “Pookie Snooze Bowl” if you fancy a midday nap.

UTSA +30.5

Georgia -24.5

Notre Dame -29.5

UTEP @ Michigan – Under 49.5

LOCK: LSU @ Ole Miss – Under 59.5

Mr. Peanut Gallery likes to zig when people zag. The whole country wants this game to be an instant classic. One thing about Lane Kiffin is that you don’t know nothin’ about Lane Kiffin. Would you be surprised if he actually put the theatrics away for once?

Rutgers +23.5

Houston +7.5

Kent State @ Ohio State – Over 59.5

Stony Brook +14.5

LOCK: Indiana -44.5

Indiana is entering its full sicko mode era, and I genuinely do not understand why Vegas is pretending this is a remotely competitive football game. This line could be -89.5 and I’d still be sitting here doing the exact same thing: taking IU, closing the app, and enjoying my Saturday.

Miami (FL) -20.5

Alabama -19.5

Utah -27.5

LSU -3

LOCK: Virginia -9.5

Virginia hasn’t shown any cracks yet, proving to be a dominant team. It’s always helpful to have the oldest O-line in college football with an average age of 26. Consistency, maturity, and having match-ups between grown men versus boys is always going to win you games. Give me my points and let’s move to next week. Tease it up to -14 and close your eyes!

These are expert picks that have a combined point total of 3 or higher (locks count as 2). Selections that fade that pick count as -1 (-2 for locks).

Virginia -9.5 (5)

North Texas +3 (3)
