College Football Betting Guide Week 2: Dirty T and Ovaltine Get Out the Gates Hot
Welcome back to the weekly betting guide! I hope you enjoyed the first full slate of college football last weekend and also made some money. If you followed our analysts last week, your endeavor for coin was likely a fruitful one.
Out of our 8 panelists, only 2 fell above .500 last week, and we collectively had a correct pick rate of 63%! Hopefully that’s indicative of the way things are going to go this year and not just beginner’s luck. See below for the current standings after week 1.
A very solid start for 5 of our 8 analysts and fortunately no one did horrendously in their first week. Dirty Tomas and Ovaltine Jenkins lead the standings, posting solid 5-1 results. Additionally, we only had 1 lock miss last week. It would really be a shame if we started off this hot and petered out over time…
Not the strongest slate of games again this week but still a lot of enticing out of conference matchups and some intriguing rivalries too. See below for all of our analysts’ picks followed by our consensus selections and the rest of my card!
Dirty Tomas
Oklahoma @ Michigan – Over 43.5
Boise State -8.5

LOCK: Oklahoma -5.5
Comeuppance. Karma. Call it what you may. The entire world except that state up North is rooting for a Sooner blowout. Unless there is more cheating (which is always possible in Ann Arbor), this game will expose the cheaters for what they are: a mediocre shell of a team.

Miami (FL) -55.5

Ohio State @ Texas – Over 48.5
LOCK: Iowa State +14
The Battle for the Cy-Hawk Trophy, fought between the two Iowan powers in early September, will resume this weekend with this being the first instance in ten years of the game occurring in primetime. Iowa is certainly a better team on paper, but this is like the football version of Heated Rivalry – it’s going to be intimate and competitive in Iowa City come Saturday evening. Roll on you Cyclones.

Rhett Lashlee’s men barely survived their treacherous trip to the tenebrous thunderdome in Tallahassee in week 1. They come back to Dallas in muted triumph after a sloppy, repugnant performance in victory. The Mustangs bring in a talented FCS squad in UC Davis in week 2, but Kevin Jennings and co. should have no problem dispatching the Aggies in a decisive fashion.

Bowling Green looked less than ideal for whatever a football coach would like to have their team looking like by the fall last outing against Tarleton State. Meanwhile, the Huskers, after a slow start, ended up finishing on a pretty high note in last week’s matchup. I am anticipating that the Falcons haven’t changed a whole lot, and the Huskers are gonna keep things rolling to start the early season strong before conference play gets underway.

LOCK: Oregon -22.5
Oregon -22.5 is an absolute LOCK. The Ducks struggled a little to get some traction in the first half last week, but I think they come back with a vengeance in Week 2. They come with something to prove and make a statement that they are a top 2 team in the country like they were ranked in the preseason. Oklahoma State is about to catch the full force of that frustration.

The University of Spoiled Children is as soft as you can get, but you don’t need to be a rough rider to take down the Ragin’ Cajuns. It’ll be 73 degrees for a Saturday night kickoff. The weather and lack of traffic may put more fans in the stands to watch a Gary Patterson defense perform admirably against an inferior opponent.
