College Football Betting Guide Week 7: Poor Overall Week Allows Brick to Surge Into Contention
Week 6 was nothing short of a disaster for the top half of our standings. Fortunately, Brick provided us a nice 5-1 week to push him back into contention, and McGee started to claw his way out of last with his first winning week of the season.

Overall, we posted a 21-27 record, good for our worst week of the season. Now that our team knows the prizes that are on the line, hopefully we don’t have a week as bad as that one for the rest of the year.
We must push on though into week 7 as many of our experts look to emerge from the muddled middle of the standings. Storylines abound as Adam McGee still searches for his first lock win, Pookie and Brick look to continue their ascent up the leaderboard, and Dirty Tomas tries to stop his free fall.
Only 2 consensus choices from our pickers this week (both I’m on the other side of). See those and the rest of our week 7 selections below!
Runder Arrade
UAB +5.5
Colorado State @ Texas State – Over 69.5
Florida State +21
Colorado +15.5
LOCK: Duke -3
Even though last week was extremely disheartening for Manny Diaz’s men, I’m still putting stock into the fact that this Blue Devils team is better than people realize. Bobby Dodd is a tough place to go into and get a win no matter the quality of the Georgia Tech team you face, and I’m hoping Duke was looking ahead to this matchup with archrival UNC. I like the Blue Devils in the bounce back spot here and fortunately only have to give up a field goal at home.
Ovaltine Jenkins
Purdue -3
Tennessee +8.5
Missouri +6
BYU +10.5
LOCK: SMU -9.5
I really thought the Cavaliers were for real this year, and then they broke my heart with a lackluster loss to West Virginia in Week 3. Before a close win over Syracuse last week, they were absolutely shellacked by Florida State. SMU enters the game with the only blemish on their record being Louisville, and that will remain the case come Sunday morning.
Jerry Rosenblatt
UCLA -2.5
Ohio State @ Indiana – Under 50.5
Notre Dame @ BYU – Over 46.5
Nebraska +7.5
LOCK: Auburn @ Georgia – Over 49.5
I feel no confidence in anything anymore. Therefore, my lock has to be the Tigers and Bulldogs – over 49.5. I’m hoping to see the Dawgs continue their dominant season by finding themselves in the endzone early and often. Auburn isn’t nothing and should be able to respond at least a couple of times. I think it’s a high scoring affair.
Mr. PG
Miami (FL) -21
Cal +9.5
Utah -15.5
Ohio State @ Indiana – Under 50.5
LOCK: Tennessee +8.5
I think Kalen DeBoer is a good coach, even a very good coach. This is an old man take, but his actions on the sideline against UGA were revealing. The man is unraveling. The pressure is getting to him and he’s starting to lose (1) his head and (2) what little hairs he has on it. Rocky Top (to cover).
Pookie Beadson
Northwestern -7.5
Kentucky +7
Utah -15.5
Wake Forest @ Cal – Over 53.5
LOCK: Mississippi State +14
LSU is desperate for a bounce-back win, but Sam Leavitt has turned the ball over at least once in every game this season. Combine that with Mississippi State’s high-powered offense with an extra week to prepare… this game will be closer than the Vegas line suggests. Thank Pookie when you cash this one. Cha-ching!
Brick Cash III
Ohio State @ Indiana – Under 50.5
Notre Dame @ BYU – Over 46.5
Nebraska +7.5
Georgia -20.5
LOCK: New Mexico @ Hawaii – Over 45.5
Last week we had a bit of a failing upwards situation on the lock. I really thought the Huskies would put up a better fight in the first half, but hey, we take those wins. This week we really need to dive headfirst into the BCIII Island play of the week with Hawaii and New Mexico. Hawaii has been struggling this entire season and can’t seem to find any footing in the lava rock while New Mexico has been rolling through all their opponents. I think they’re going to treat Hawaii no differently. Give me the over and lock it up.
Dirty Tomas
Delaware @ MTSU – Under 48.5
Jacksonville State -3
Georgia -20.5
UCLA -2.5
LOCK: Pittsburgh -6.5
Boston College is a very bad team. Pittsburgh is pretty good. Therefore, this game will be a double-digit victory for Pitt. Also, overall better scoring margin and a much stronger defense point to a comfortable win for the Panthers as they visit Chestnut Hill.
Adam McGee
Ohio State @ Indiana – Under 50.5
Maryland – 4.5
Ole Miss -6
Miami (FL) -21
LOCK: Notre Dame -10.5
Do I hear the fade the public alert? BYU hasn’t been the fun team they once were and appear to be a 1-dimensional rushing offense. Well, I got news for you. Notre Dame LOVES a run-heavy offense as they have only given up 1 rush TD so far this year and hold the run game in check. This is the time to decide if you ride the public (gross) or take the sharp side.
